Cap d’Agde

The town of Agde
This ancient city of Greek origin has 26 centuries of history reflected in the river Hérault. Absolutely unique in the Languedoc, the city of Agde will surprise you with the elegance and richness of its architecture. From the ramparts to the Marine, along the narrow streets and squares, treat yourself to an astonishing journey out of time!
Le Grau d’Agde
This traditional fishing village lies on the edge of the Mediterranean, on the left bank of the river Hérault. The fishing boats come and go between the piers, the fish market, the shipyards… and the beaches, of course! Peaceful and welcoming, this port is well worth a visit for a day or a longer stay!
La Tamarissière
This little seaside village, with its two-hundred-year-old pine forest, has everything to please those who love nature and tranquillity! Between beach and forest, discover La Tamarissière and let yourself be seduced!

Lovers of heritage and old stones will be enchanted by the splendid abbeys of Valmagne, Sylvanès and Cassan, and other major heritage sites such as the Nîmes Arena, Maguelone Cathedral, the Prieuré Saint Michel de Grandmont and the Château de l’Engarran.
Nature lovers can enter the magical world of the Demoiselles, Salamandre, Aven Armand and Trabuc caves, or escape to one of the largest bamboo plantations in Europe, the Cévennes Bamboo Plantation.
