We are proud to present our initiatives to preserve and promote the richness of the natural world around us.

  • Shared vegetable garden

When we installed the drip irrigation system, we thought it would be a good idea to optimize the use of water to grow vegetables at the feet of our guests, rather than setting up a specific area for vegetables in full sun.

You’ll find tomatoes, zucchinis, lettuces, cucumbers, melons, herbs and other seasonal vegetables in this original vegetable garden around the cottages. Don’t hesitate to help yourself to fresh produce. It’s a real treasure hunt!

  • Fauna and flora

Explore the plant diversity of our campsite, where a multitude of plants are present, many of them edible. Little signs scattered around the site will tell you which plants you can eat. We’ll even challenge you to find and identify these plants during your stay.

Here’s a hint: in spring, our taste buds feast on wild asparagus, while summer is a paradise for wild leeks and blackberries.

The planted areas have been designed to provide flowers at every time of year: the star plants are callistemon, laurel, rosemary and lantana.

Nesting boxes have been installed to welcome our feathered friends, the birds. Take advantage of this opportunity to observe them and learn about the different species thanks to our informative displays.

Have you noticed the open passages in the fences for our hedgehog friends?

The plants in our planter :

Aromatic herbs :

  • Savory: used as a pepper substitute, it lends itself deliciously to all your legume, fish, pasta, vegetable and poultry dishes. It also enhances salads and vinaigrettes.
  • Thyme: its flavor resists heat well, making it an excellent choice for barbecue marinades.
  • Tarragon: while it’s great in mustard and pickles, it’s in sauces that it’s truly unforgettable.
  • Chives: its oniony aroma is especially suited to green salads, and is a wonderful spice for roasted vegetables.

Fresh or dried edible flowers can decorate mixed salads and fruit salads:

  • Borage: with a refreshing cucumber flavor.
  • Nasturtium: a peppery flavor, also reminiscent of watercress, adds spice to your dishes.

Medicinal plants with multiple benefits :

  • Mertensia: surprisingly iodized, reminiscent of oysters, it is also rich in potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, manganese, zinc and copper.
  • Sage: renowned for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, is also used to soothe digestive disorders.
  • Mint: used for its digestive properties, for transit, slimming, stomach aches and nausea associated with motion sickness.

Some plants can fall into several categories, which are both aromatic and medicinal, and may have other virtues and uses.

As the effects of herbs can vary according to individuals and circumstances, it is advisable to consult a doctor for any persistent symptoms.
